PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to overall success of Medium Voltage Business by proposing technically and commercially complete solutions to clients for RFQs received in the region.
Provide input into identification & qualification of opportunities by working together with the field sales and mentoring them with commercial / competitive insight and strategy development to maximixe RA win probability. Support activities to educate field sales force about RA MV solutions and products. Support customer seminars and visits to the factory as required.
Work with technical and commercial specialists in the product division in an extended team environment.
Employ excellent technical skills and creativity to combine Medium Voltage Drives and Motor Control Centers with each other and with selected 3rd party suppliers, as required in the RFQ
Apply engineering skills to perform engineering analysis to help qualify our equipment in the application. Network internally to understand and apply product synergies.
Employ commercial skills and creativity to maximize RA profit on the opportunity while addressing Total Cost of Acquisition and Ownership issues with the client. Negotiate internally and externally.
Analyze job cost and margin, prepare risk assessments and cash flow analyses.Understand and apply concepts of cost, value and profit margin. Obtain necessary Project Approvals from Senior Management, Contracts and Negotiations and the Project Approval Review Board as necessary. Follow Delegation of Authority approval guidelines to establish customer pricing and commercial handling of the opportunity.
Provide commercial and technical responses to all customer inquires through the bid evaluation and negotiation phase.
Work with Contracts and Negotiations and RA legal as required to negotiate mutually acceptable Terms and Conditions and Payment Terms.
Provide cross functional support in a team environment to other departments when necessary or as needed to ensure customer expectations are met.
Upon receipt of order ensure that order requirements are adequately communicated and transferred to Product Division and / or Project Managers.
Engineering degree required with electro-mechanical background
PMP would be an asset to this role
Min. 3 years commercial and technical experience with power control products including peripheral equipment such as motors, switchgear, and transformers, PLCs.
Ability to coordinate and communicate with consultants, end users and OEMs through Sales group
Ability to interface with internal suppliers especially purchasing, application and development engineering, project management and quality
Proven ability to work in remote team environment
Proven ability to work closely with senior executives and customers
Demonstrated commercial skills and working knowledge of contracts and risk management
